The Wedding Day

Emily & Mike married on a sunny Saturday in May at the Citadel Theatre with a reception to follow at the Prince of Wales Armouries. I’ve known Emily for a long time now, we attended high school together but didn’t officially meet until university. Emily a talented musician, met Mike through some mutual friends from school and the rest was history! I feel very lucky to have known these two for a while now, it made photographing the wedding just all that more special! I tagged along with Emily and her bridesmaids all morning prior to the wedding, including hitting up the food court for some tasty beyond the meat burgers. Emily wore her mother’s wedding dress something I don’t see often from current brides but knowing Emily as I do this was right in line with her vintage-loving heart.

Their ceremony was filled with lots of laughter and music, the best part being when the bridal party follow suit behind Emily and Mike playing on kazoos the theme song from The Office. Instead of any traditional wedding transportation to the reception venue, we all took the LRT, seemed perfectly fitting for their wedding day. The all-vegan meal was followed by a “donut” cutting (vegan of course) and finally first dances. The day wouldn’t have been complete however without Emily getting up to sing a song for her new husband. I’m very thankful that Emily and Mike have known me prior and asked me to capture their special day, thank you again!
