Edmonton Band Headshot Session

I’m coming back at ya guys with another headshot session! I know you all don’t love seeing my headshot work next to the weddings but I don’t have a home yet for just my headshots. So I will continue to share them here for the time being until I can get a new home for them (i.e. a new website completely dedicated to that type of photography I do.)

Anywho! Here is a session I did with the Dixieland Jazz Society Band a little while ago. Joel called me up and set a plan in motion to get some new photographs done. Originally we were planning on going to MacEwan and using the new Allard Hall for our backdrop. But we forgot the school was closed. Luckily the Creative Hive came through for us! I adore this little space so much, bright, clean and on the west side on Edmonton, it’s the perfect industrial looking studio. Plus, a bonus, it’s close to my house. I’m talking like a five-minute drive, I love convenience like that!

There’s tons of gorgeous natural light that floods through the big garage door that they’ve converted with windows but in addition to that, there’s a piano! Which I totally forgot about. So we could have the complete picture of the band members with their instruments. I took a few individual headshots of the guys and I personally loved the way they turned out. I’ve talked about it many times before but I really enjoy photographing musicians.

We wrapped up with some band/ group photos and they even played a little for me. While I course ran around and snapped some extra “action” shots. Check out the Dixieland Jazz Society Band photo below!
