Jessica’s Farmland Headshot Session

Okay everyone hold their horses (or sheep) literarily because this was one of the cutest headshot sessions I’ve ever done. Like I absolutely love animals! love them to the ends of the earth. So I was super excited to meet up with Jessica. I met her at her farmland, and she’s a veterinarian. I think get little personal shoots like this are amazing. They can just be yourself, and I highly encourage more people to take this opportunity, you don’t have to have them for any other reason than for yourself.

Spring was just blooming and Jessica had all her sheep out, as well as her cats. The golden hour light was in full swing, just simply perfection. While we as photographers can’t control golden hour at all we try our very best. I always plan for it, two hours before sunset is generally when you’ll get the best light of the day. And if for (so many reasons) golden hour doesn’t happen, dusk or overcast is still a favourite of mine to photograph in. However with all that said, if you’ve really envisioned having golden hour and on your shoot day it’s just not happening. Don’t be afraid to reschedule. There’s a pretty good chance that the next day there will be that beautiful light that you want.

These little sheep were so dang cute, and Jessica even had a baby lamb. I just wanted to stay all night hanging out with them, but of course I had to leave eventually. If only so I could go home and edit all the lovely photos I had just taken. Thanks Jessica for having me out and trusting me to capture you, you’re welcome to have me back at anytime! to hangout with you and your animals again.
